Day 1 as A Weekend Warrior in Sydney

Start your first day in Sydney with a visit to Circular Quay, the city’s gateway to the beautiful harbour. Many call it the heart of the city. The two major landmarks of Sydney are located only a couple minutes away. The Sydney Opera House is easily one of the most iconic buildings on the planet.

Spend some time there, walking around and enjoying the views of Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. That bridge is another important landmark in the city. It is 2.4-kilometres long and connects the city’s northern suburbs with the CBD. You can walk across – and even climb it – which offers truly spectacular views of the harbour and Opera House.

Head back to Circular Quay for lunch and walk through the entrance gate to the enormous Royal Botanic Gardens, conveniently located right next to the Opera House. Spend the afternoon strolling around, laying on the grass. Again, there are amazing views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

In the evening make your way to Darling Harbour, Sydney’s main entertainment district. Here you find a vast selection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs, as well as the IMAX movie theatre, Sydney Wildlife World and Sydney Aquarium. You will definitely find something to keep you entertained over there.

Day 2 as A Weekend Warrior in Sydney

Try to get up early on your second day. Remember that you only have 48 hours in Sydney. Grab some breakfast and go to The Rocks, the oldest neighbourhood in the city. This is where the first colonists established a settlement and it is the best place to learn about Sydney’s history.

Take a Manly Ferry from Circular Quay across the beautiful harbour and enjoy lunch at the Corso.

In the late afternoon it is time to relax and soak up some sun. What better place to do this than Bondi Beach. One of the world’s most famous beaches, Bondi Beach is the place to see and be seen. Roll out a towel on the beach and go for a swim.

Before going out for dinner and drinks, you should visit the Sydney Tower, the tall tower that you see in every picture of the city’s skyline. The panoramic views from the viewing platforms are spectacular, especially on a bright day and during sunset.

Finish off your weekend warrior experience in Sydney with a couple of drinks in a pub. Kings Cross is Sydney’s party neighbourhood, but that is only if you are up for it. If not, go back to the Opera House and enjoy the views of Sydney Harbour by night.

Sydney is ideal for a weekend getaway, and you can get a very real appreciation of this very beautiful and fun city.
